Rectangle: The rectangle is a great block for movement. Babies tend to just lie still in one place and therefore this block helps them to get some movement with help from mom and dad. With this block you can move your baby forward, backward, left and right while they are laying on their back/tummy on the block. It is also the perfect block to help with little babies still learning to sit as it gives them a little bit of a lift for their bum, strengthening their core. Something extra to do while your little one is practicing to sit – sit behind them (while they are sitting on the block, feet on the floor) and only put a little pressure on their hips for stability. Place a toy or something that attracts them in front of them, far enough to reach. In this way, they go forward with their upper bodies, reach for the toy and then with the help you are providing, they are coming back to the sitting position. Without them knowing, they are strengthening their backs, core and neck. This block also helps with crawling while they are pushing it all over the place. You can even help them by putting their whole body on the block and let them only use their hands, arms and shoulders to crawl. Now they have also done some- back, tummy and shoulder exercises! Amazing!
